Balazs Nyeki, the head coach of FTC Telekom, has quickly risen to prominence as one of Hungary’s most accomplished coaches. Since taking over the helm of FTC Telekom, Nyeki has achieved incredible success, securing all five possible trophies: two Hungarian Cups, one national championship, a European Super Cup, and, most notably, the Champions League title. Remarkably, his team suffered only one defeat throughout this dominant run.
Nyeki’s meticulous approach to the game, combined with his ability to develop talent and foster team cohesion, have solidified Ferencvaros’ position as a powerhouse in both Hungarian and European water polo.
His achievements have earned him a spot on this year’s Total Player Expert Jury.
For the first time, here are Nyeki’s Total 7:
Goalkeeper: Soma Vogel (Hungary)
Central defender: Rino Buric (Croatia)
Centre forward: Ben Hallock (USA)
Right side 1: Dusan Mandic (Serbia) – MVP
Right side 2: Edoardo Di Somma (Italy)
Left side 1: Alvaro Granados (Spain)
Left side 2: Stylianos Argyropoulos (Greece)
This year, jurors need to select the best player for each position. From that team, they must choose the one who stood out the most.
Players selected for the team receive 3 points, and the best player earns an additional 5 points.
