Sabadell has announced a new addition.
After spending ten years at Barceloneta, Martin Famera, 37, has moved to Sabadell.
Famera, an experienced defender from the Czech Republic, joined Barceloneta in 2015 after transferring from Spandau Berlin. During his time at Barceloneta, he won a total of 28 titles (10 in the Spanish League, 10 in the Spanish Cup, 9 in the Spanish Super Cup, and 9 in the Catalunya Cup). Additionally, he has finished third three times in the Champions League.
In 2020, Famera was granted Spanish citizenship, allowing him to represent Spain at the Tokyo Olympic Games.
As a member of the national team, he became a world champion in Budapest in 2022 and earned bronze medals at the Fukuoka 2023 and Doha 2024 World Championships. He also finished third at the European Championships in Split in 2022 and competed in his second Olympic event in Paris in 2024. This year, he didn't play for Spain.
Sabadell has confirmed four new signings so far: Federico Panerai (from Quinto), Jack Larsen (from Pro Recco), Rafael Real Vergara (from Brazil), and Famera. Â
A long-time captain, Sergi Cabanas, who left Jug, returns to Sabadell, but an announcement regarding his arrival is still pending.
