Eight of the world’s water polo powerhouses are in Belgrade, Serbia, this week to fight for the FINA Water Polo World League Super Final crown, the last stage of the tournament which run from October 2018 until now.
From June 18-23, the best squads from the Intercontinental Cup – Australia, Canada, Japan and Kazakhstan will face the strongest European teams – Croatia, Hungary, Serbia and Spain.
Among the fiercest contenders in the pool are Olympic champion Serbia and their neighbors Croatia, currently the World title holder and last year’s Super Final silver and bronze medallists Hungary and Spain respectively.
As a reminder, the Final ranking 2018 was as follows:
1. Montenegro, 2. Hungary, 3. Spain, 4. Japan, 5. Croatia, 6. Australia, 7. USA, 8. Kazakhstan
The 2019 Super Final will take place at the Sports Center Tasmajdan in Belgrade, one of the most modern sports centre in Serbia with an impressive infrastructure and facilities. The groups’ composition is as follows:
