Four favorites recorded wins with double-digit margins in the first round of the Croatian League.
The only result that can be considered a surprise was Mornarβs 12:10 away win over Solaris in Sibenik. Although the final score showed a two-goal difference, the match was not as close as it seemed. Mornar dominated the first half (8:3). With just four and a half minutes to go, Mornar held a 12:6 advantage. In the remaining time, Solaris managed to narrow the gap. Luka Omrcen scored three goals for Mornar, while David Mijic, who joined Solaris from Vasas this summer, also netted three goals for his team.
The reigning champion, Jadran Split, trashed KPK Korcula 22:9. Dusan Matkovic made his debut for Jadran, scoring four goals. The title holder is still without its captain, Jerko Marinic Kragic, as he has not yet recovered from surgery. Itβs still uncertain when he will be able to join the team.
Mladost beat Zadar by 13 goals β 23:7. Andrija Basic was the top scorer with four goals.
Vlaho Pavlic netted six goals to lead Jug to a 24:8 victory over Medvescak.
Primorje recorded the most convincing win of the round, beating OVK Split 28:5. Marko Radulovic, who returned to Primorje after eight years, contributed five goals to the victory.
