Barceloneta, as well as other favorites, got off to a flying start in the Spanish Championships.
The titleholder defeated Mediterrani 27:7, with five goals from Vince Vigari and Bernat Sanahuja. Mediterrani remained relatively close to Barceloneta for most of the first half. The visitors scored their last goal in the 14th minute, reducing the gap to 7:11. However, in the remaining time, Barceloneta executed a 16:0 run.
Barcelona recorded a convincing win, too, defeating the newcomer to the league, Encinas de Boadilla, 21:6, with four goals from Pol Prat.
Sabadell achieved a 15:6 victory over Tenerife Echeyde. The second and third quarters were pivotal, as Sabadell managed to score seven goals while not conceding any during this stretch. Martin Famera and Kanstantin Averka each contributed three goals to Sabadell’s triumph.
Caballa opened an away match against Sant Andreu surprisingly well. It led 6:2 late into the first quarter. Sant Andreu leveled at 7:7 by the middle break, and secured a 14:12 victory in the second half.
