Primorje earned a hard-fought victory in a big derby against Solaris in the fourth round of the Croatian League.
The Rijeka-based team defeated the visitors from Sibenik 15:13. The match was closely contested for nearly three quarters, with the score tied at every number from 1 to 9. In the 24th minute, Primorje took an 11:9 lead – two goals separated the rivals for the first time. However, Solaris leveled the score at 11:11 three minutes later. Primorje then scored three unanswered goals in just 66 seconds, extending its lead to 14:11. The drama continued as Solaris narrowed the gap to 13:14 with just 1:06 remaining. Despite their efforts, the visitors could not equalize in their final possession. Ivan Vukojevic set the final score in the very last second of the match. Marko Radulovic and Tin Brubnjak each contributed significantly to Primorje’s victory, scoring four goals apiece, while Roko Pelicaric netted three goals for Solaris.
Jadran Split, Mladost, and Jug continued their series of convincing wins.
Jadran beat its Split rival, POSK 1937, 17:8, with three goals each from Pejkovic, Skejic, and Tomasovic. Jug visited Split and defeated Mornar 20:10. Three juniors combined 14 goals for Jug. Susic and Jerkovic scored five each, while Pavlic added four. All outfield players of Mladost got on the scoresheet in a 25:8 victory over OVK Split. Russian leftie Ivan Nagaev topped the scorers’ list with five goals.
