Primorac defeated Novi Beograd after a penalty shootout in the big match of the 7th round of the Premier VRL Premier League. There were 36 goals in regular time. Novi Beograd was in front for most of the game. Primorac took control at the finish. However, the teams were tied at 18:18 after 32 minutes. The hosts had stronger nerves in a shootout and recorded a 22:20 victory.
Sabac kept 1st place with a 14:9 win over Buducnost. Radnicki beat Partizan 17:10 in Belgrade, while Jadran earned a 14:10 away victory over Crvena Zvezda.
After the first half of the regular season, Sabac is in 1st place, followed by Radnicki, Primorac, Novi Beograd and JAdran. Only five points separate Sabac and fifth-placed Jadran.
Novi Beograd had a new coaching staff in the match in Kotor. Petar Radanovic led the team as the head coach, as in all matches this season, but Aleksandar Sapic joined him as an assistant. There was unofficial information that Sapic would become the head coach, and Radanovic would serve as his assistant. However, the club’s founder returned to the bench as an assistant.

Primorac earned an early 2:0 lead. Novi Beograd was without first-pick goalkeeper Milan Glusac (he was red-carded at the finish of the previous match against Sabac), and was replaced by. Gavrilovic. The visitors consolidated their defense in time, which helped them turn the score quickly with three goals. At the first break, the teams were tied at 3:3. Novi Beograd opened the second period excellently and established a 7:4 lead midway through the quarter. The Champions League runner-up maintained a three-goal difference until 9:6. Still, at the finish of the first half, Primorac cut the deficit. Drasko Brguljan made it 8:9 with a nice lob just seven seconds before the middle break.
The hosts equalized in the 20th minute, when Yusuke Inaba converted a double man-up to make it 11:11. Milos Cuk and Stefan Pjesivac gave Novi Beograd a 13:11 lead. The visitors held a 2-goal lead until the middle of the fourth period (16:14), before Primorac went on a 3:0 run in less than two minutes and went ahead – 17:16 with 02:50 seconds remaining. The teams traded goals at the finish. Perkovic leveled at 18:18 with 66 seconds to go. Neither team scored in the last minute, so the decision went to a penalty shootout. Primorac made no mistakes in a penalty drama, while Novi Beograd failed to convert two shots, and the Kotor-based team managed to beat Novi Beograd after a penalty shootout for the second time this season (after a victory in the Champions League qualifications).

Yusuke Inaba scored seven goals for Primroac, and Mrsic found the net four times. Novi Beograd’s top scorer with seven goals was Nikola Lukic. He was followed by Milos Cuk, who netted three.
Radnicki earned an easy away win over the bottom-placed Partizan. The Serbian champion scored four unanswered goals for a 4:0 lead. The hosts didn’t surrender and halved the deficit until halftime (7:9). Shortly after the middle break, Radnicki re-built a 4-goal lead (11:7) and increased the difference to seven in the rest of the match.

Radnicki played without Dusko Pijetlovic, Viktor Rasovic, and still-injured Nikola Jaksic. All Radnicki outfield players of Radnicki got on the scoresheet in a 17:10 victory. Dadvani scored three, and Dedovic, Randjelovic, and Vlachopoulos two goals each. Radnicki’s captain Andrija Prlainovic, who played at the Banjica pool for the first time after nine years, found the net once. Andjelic scored three goals for Partizan.
Crvena Zvezda fielded only 11 players (including two goalkeepers) in the match against Jadran Herceg Novi in Futog, but offered a strong resistance and made the game interesting. Crvena Zvezda didn’t concede a goal in the first quarter, while scoring two. In the second quarter, the Montenegrin champion took a 3:2 lead, but Crvena Zvezda regained a 2-goal advantage before the middle break (5:3). Jadran opened the second half with five straight goals and went to 8:5. Crvena Zvezda didn’t give in. The Belgrade-based team cut the deficit to one goal (7:8 and 8:9) early in the fourth period, but ran out of gas for the final minutes. Srdjan Janovic scored four goals, and Strahinja Gojkovic three to help Jadran achieve a 14:10 victory. Crvena Zvezda’s Veljko Tankosic found the net four times.

Sabac got off to a flying start in the match against Buducnost. The league-leader built an 8:1 lead in the first 12 minutes. Buducnost then started recovering and trailed 5:10 at halftime. The home team continued dominating after the middle break and jumped to 14:5 early in the fourth period. Buducnost scored four unanswered goals in the rest of the match. Ognjen Moracanin led Sabac to a 14:9 victory.
