An exciting junior tournament took place this weekend in Stockholm. After 21 games, we got winners in three categories. Home U20 girls team won the first tournament in this category. The Lithuanian U15 boy’s team defended last year’s title, while the Denmark team managed to dethrone Lithuanians in the U17 category.
Girls from Sweden dominated the tournament by winning all three games including the final against Denmark (12:7). Finland finished in 3rd place.
The Lithuanian U15 team won the final match easier than expected against their Danish rivals (15:5), led by fantastic Dominykas Gervickas who ended up with trophies for the best scorer and MVP of the Junior Nordic Championship.
The highlight of the tournament was the final game between Lithuania and Denmark in the U17 boy’s category. Lithuanians won the group stage match (16:14), but in the final game table boys from Denmark fought back and won by 17:14. Danish player Rajmund Koska, a familiar name for all Total Waterpolo readers, had another great tournament and took home awards for the best scorer and the MVP.
