Two big derbies were in the spotlight of the 10th round of the Italian League. Sport Management hosted Pro Recco, while Brescia visited Syracuse to face Ortigia. The visiting teams recorded wins in both games. Pro Recco beat Sport Management convincingly – 13:6, while Brescia edged out Ortigia 6:5.

Pro Recco opened the match against Sport Management in Busto Arsizio with a 6:1 lead (9th minute), which determined the rest of the game. The titleholder maintained a 5-goal gap until halftime (8:3) and didn’t let Sport Management come back.
The encounter between Ortigia and Brescia offered an utterly different storyline. Goalkeepers Stefano Tempesti (Ortigia) and Marco Del Lungo (Brescia) played the leading roles in the first half. Before the third quarter, the score was 2:2. Brescia opened the third quarter with a goal for a 3:2 lead. Midway the third quarter, Ortigia turned around a 1-goal deficit to a 5:4 advantage. Brescia’s Antonio Buha found the net 60 seconds before the last break and the teams entered tied the fourth quarter (5:5). The defenses dominated the last period. Only one goal was scored in the last eight minutes. Jacopo Alesiani found the net in the 5th minute of the last period for Brescia’s 6:5 win. After this win, Brescia caught Ortigia in points.Both teams have collected 24 points.
Savona beat Trieste easier than it was expected – 16:9. Edoardo Campopiano, who scored eight goals for Savona, made the difference.
Two games were ended in a draw.
Quinto and Posillipo shared the points in Genoa – 11:11. Lazio visited Palermo to face Telimar. Lazio had an 8:5 lead at halftime. Telimar produced a magnificent comeback in the second half, and secured a point with Draskovic’s goal three seconds from the end.
