The big derby was in the spotlight of the 8th round of the Portuguese League.
Reigning champion Vitoria hosted Parades, in the match played in Guimaraes. Both teams had been undefeated before the 8th round. After a hard battle, Vitoria posted a narrow 17:16 win. The hosts opened the match with a 5:2 lead, which proved vital for their win. The best scorers in the winning team were Attila Kincses (6 goals) and Pedro Sousa (5). Ricardo Teixeira netted four goals for Parades.
After this victory, Vitoria remains lonely atop of the table.
Third-placed Alges and Fluvial, which holds the 4th position, recorded big wins in the eight round.
Sporting achieved an important away win over Povoense – 14:11. The second half was decisive for the outcome, as Sporting was trailing 5:7 at halftime.
