Itβs now official β there will be no Asian teams at the menβs Olympic qualification tournament in Rotterdam.
Total Waterpolo has already published the information that the Asians wonβt play the qualifications.
The confirmation came from the Organizing Committee of the tournament, which published the schedule of the qualifications.
As expected, Turkey and France replaced the Asian teams.
Iran and China were invited to take part in the Intercontinental qualifications in Rotterdam, according to the ranking at the 2018 Asian Games, but they gave up the tournament, as well as all other invited Asian teams.
Even 10 European and two American teams (Canada and Brazil) will battle for the Olympic berths. The top three ranked teams will qualify for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.
Group A: Greece, Montenegro, Brazil, Canada, Georgia, Turkey.
Group B: Croatia, Germany, Russia, Romania, Netherlands, France.
