LEN Euro Cup title-holder Marseille has serious plans for the next season. Andrija Prlainovic was the first reinforcement, who joined the French clubs a few weeks ago.
But, the French failed to realize one of the desired transfers. Marseille wanted to bring Croatian center-forward Luka Loncar from Jug Dubrovnik. The two sides negotiated, but Loncar decided to stay in Dubrovnik. He signed a new four-year contract with Jug. Loncar has been playing for Jug since 2015. He won the 2016 Champions League and several national and the Regional League trophies with Jug. Playing for Croatia, Loncar clinched the title at the 2017 World Championships, silver at the 2016 Olympic Games bronze at the 2019 World Championships, etc.
But, Marseille, continues to seek an experienced center-forward. The candidates are an Australian Joseph Kayes, who left Pro Recco a few days ago, and Konstantinos Mourikis, a member of the Greek national team and Olympiacos.
Among Marseille’s possible reinforcements is Croatia’s captain Andro Buslje. Pro Recco still hasn’t confirmed that Buslje left the club, but it’s sure that he will not extend the contract with the Genoese.
Pro Recco continued to build a team for a new season. A 34-years-old goalkeeper Tommaso Negri, after 13 seasons spent in Posillipo Naples, moved to Pro Recco. He had already played for Pro Recco for one season (2002/03) before he moved to Bogliasco and then to Posillipo in 2007. He won the 2015 LEN Euro Cup with the Naples-based side. The competition for Recco’s caps with number 1 and number 13 became stronger since the best Italian club already has three goalkeeper – Marko Bijac, who plays for the Croatian national team, and two Italians Edoardo Prian and Francesco Massaro. One of these two Italian goalkeepers maybe will leave, after Negri’s arrival. There is no doubt that Bijac will stay in Recco.
There is still no official information about possible arrival Aaron Younger from Ferencvaros, but the Australian is very close to moving to Recco.
There have been no many announcements about transfers in the Hungarian clubs in the last few days. However, Vasas continues its activities at the transfer market. As we reported, Serbia’s goalkeeper Branislav Mitrovic signed a 1-year contract with Vasas. After Mitrovic, two more former OSC’s players are on the road to Vasas. Montenegro’s captain Drasko Brguljan and a Serb Sava Randjelovic are Vasas’s new reinforcements. At the moment, they still haven’t signed contracts with a new club, but the negotiations are almost finished.
