Only two games of the Hungarian League third round were played today. Four matches are postponed because of coronavirus, while two are scheduled for Wednesday.
The decisions on postponement the games OSC â Kaposvar, and Szolnok â Miskolc were made earlier. Yesterday, KSI and BVSC asked for the postponement of their matches. KSI reported that one player had tested positive. At BVSC, all tests have been negative so far. However, in the last few days, some of the players had a fever, and the club asked not to play this weekend.
An exciting game was played in Budapest, where Vasas edged out Szeged and avoided a surprise â 9:8.

The game in Budapest was played behind the closed doors, while the fans were allowed to enter the stands of the pool in Pecs.

Vasas entered the match against Szeged as a strong favorite. But, the hosts had to fight hard to earn three points.
Szeged earned an early 1:0 advantage. Vasas, led by Bence Batori (five goals this evening), took control in the second quarter. The hosts earned a solid 5:2 lead in the middle of the second period. Vasas maintained the three-goal advantage during the third period (6:3, 7:4). Early in the fourth quarter, the distance between the sides was still three goals (8:5). Then, Szeged started climbing back. The visitors equalized â 8:8 two minutes before the end. Vasas saved all three points because Henrik Simon converted a man-up for the final score 9:8 with 43 seconds to go.
There were no excitements in Pecs. PVSK was already 7:2 up at halftime and cruised to the win. The side from Pecs is atop of the table. PVSK is the only team which played in each of the first three rounds
The next two games that will be staged in Budapest, UVSE â Tatabanya, and Honved â Szentes will be played without spectators.
