The busy week of European water polo, which started on Monday, with the second βbubbleβ tournaments of the Champions League, will be completed tomorrow, with the 2nd leg of the LEN Euro Cup eighth-finals.
The 1st leg was held last Saturday, and there are still a lot of open questions.
Almost each of the 16 teams still has chances to reach the quarterfinals.
Hungarian clubs OSC and Szolnok can already think of the quarterfinals since they recorded convincing away wins last week (over Pays dβAix and Primorac).
The other six games were thrilling, which promises a lot of excitement in the second leg.
Last Saturday, visiting teams were very successful. Only one home side beat its rival (Radnicki edged out Strasbourg). The visitors recorded five wins, while two matches ended in a draw.
But it seems that everything is still open in six encounters.
Crvena Zvezda was quite convincing on Saturday. The Serbian Cup winner earned a 3-goal advantage in the match against Tourcoing in France, but the Serbs shouldnβt relax. The first match was very balanced, and it is expected that the game in Belgrade will be similar to the previous one.
Mladost Zagreb, which will host Barceloneta, enters the 2nd leg with a 2-goal lead. But, the Croatian team will play without an outstanding scorer Konstantin Kharkov. The Russian, who scored four goals in the first match, got injured, and he will be outside the pool for a while.
Dynamo Moscow has two goals more than Sintez Kazan before the second Russian derby.
There were no winners in the encounters Novi Beograd β Vouliagmeni and Sabadell-Mediterrani.
