ZV De Zaan is the new leader in the Dutch league. With a 4:8 victory over UZSC, the team from Zaandam switched positions with their direct opponent. UZSC’s Joep de Jong scored the first goal, but in the second and particularly the third period, the visitors took over the game. After goals from Erno Snoek, Mick van den Bree, Thomas Lucas and Rick Keijzer, ZV De Zaan ran out to 3:6. In the fourth period Benjamin Hoepelman brought UZSC back to 4:6, but Mick van den Bree slammed the door shut for good.
ZPC Amersfoort was close to a stunt against AZC. Amersfoort led 4:5 at halftime, then AZC ran out to 8:5 and seemed to win the match. But ZPC Amersfoort came back very well and a minute before time, Sam Kunz scored the 9:10 due to a quick break. Still, AZC straightened the game. Out of a man-up, AZC-player Attila Kincses scored four seconds before the end 10:10.
Polar Bears and ZVL-1886 came into action twice. On Saturday, Polar Bears did not choke on PSV (10:13 win). ZVL also won (by 17:11 against Waterpolo Den Haag). They met on Sunday. It was a thrilling duel. Polar Bears won 9:8. Sander Roels scored the winning goal.
ZPB did good business at the bottom by beating De Ham. The team from Barendrecht won 8:12 and rose one position in the rankings. Luka Jovanovic was on a roll with five goals. In the second and third period he provided a wide margin. Even the ‘hat-trick’ in the final phase of Ham-player Floris vant Veer did not endanger ZPB’s victory.

Eredivisie women
Due to the FINA World League in Budapest, no full program in the women’s league. Only four teams got into action. SWOL’s difficult season continues. After eight games the number last from Zwolle has not got a single point and a goal difference of -114. Saturday, Polar Bears was too strong. And again with a great score. It became a whopping 25:6. The other match was between Het Ravijn and De Ham. The teams don’t differ much from each other in the ranking and it was also exciting in the game in Nijverdal. Ultimately, De Ham won. The foundation was laid in the first period. De Ham took a 2:0 lead through goals from Lizette Rozeboom and Amy Rozemeijer. In the second period, both players doubled the score. In the third period, Het Ravijn turned the game completely. Charlotte Mensink, Noa de Vries, Lieke Schokker and Lotte Beunk put Het Ravijn in the lead (6:5). In the last period, however, De Ham still managed to win. Former international Lizette Rozeboom showed her talent and distinguished herself in this phase with three goals. The game-winning goal was made by Regina van t Veer. In the very last second, she shot the 9:10 against the ropes.
