A young Montenegrin player Djuro Radovic, who moved from Jadran to Olympiacos this summer, has been suspended by FINA because of a violation of anti-doping protocols.
On October 7, FINA informed the Montenegrin Water Polo Federation that Radovic had been banned from participating in all competitions for two years, the Greek website Aquafeed24 published.
Still, the decision isn’t final because the player and the Montenegrin Federation can apply a complaint in the next 14 days.
As Aquafeed published, Radovic is accused of avoiding completing the necessary files for FINA And WADA (World Anti Doping Agency) to know his exact location every time. These files are necessary so that anti-doping officers can perform random anti-doping tests. That happened twice.
It still isn’t known when the suspension starts.
The Montenegrin Federation confirmed they had received FINA’s decision on the suspension. The national federation has started a process to prove that Radovic didn’t violate the rules in purpose.
Djuro Radovic has never tested positive at anti-doping tests.
