The 12th round of the Spanish Championship, the last one in 2021, was played this weekend.
Barceloneta finished 2021 with a perfect 12 – 0 record. In the derby of this year’s last round, the title-holder beat Sabadell 13:9.

Each team scored three goals in the first quarter of the derby in Sabadell. However, Barceloneta started taking control after the first break. The reigning champion opened the second period with three straight goals (6:3) and kept a 3-goal distance until the middle break (9:6). The visitors, led by Alvaro Granados, produced a new 3:0 run in the third quarter. Barceloneta jumped to a 12:6 lead (23rd minute) and there was no way back for Sabadell.
Mediterrani dominated in the first half of the match against Mataro and was 7:1 up at halftime. Mataro recovered from the opening shock but didn’t endanger Mediterani’s victory.
Barcelona and Terrassa cruised to victories.
Sant Andreu was three goals down in the middle of the third quarter, but produced a big comeback and recorded a win. Tenerife led 10:7 in the 20th minute, but it couldn’t find the net in the last 12 minutes, while Sant Andreu netted four for an 11:10 victory. Nikolas Paul was the man of the match with seven goals. He scored the 11th goal for Sant Andreu in the 27th minute. After that, nobody could find the net.
Catalunya had a 7:3 advantage two minutes before the end of the third period of the game with Real. Then, Real started coming back. Still, the Madrid-based team didn’t equalize. Fernandez found the net 26 seconds from the end, for the final score (6:7).
