The table has stayed practically the same after gameweek 11 in the Women’s OB I. The top four (FTC, UVSE, DFVE and BVSC) all recorded wins. Gyor, Tatabanya, Szeged and Keruleti all lost at the bottom. Szentes are now level on points with 5th placed Eger after just scraping past Gyor.
FTC Telekom 15-4 ZF Eger (4-1, 4-2, 4-1, 3-0)
FTC: O. Cseho-Kovacsne Kaso, P. Petik 1, Z. Mate 1, K. Valentin, P. Pocze 4, V. Kovesdi 1, M. Koopman 2, A. Illes 3, S. Kuna 1, V. Valyi, D. Toth Csabai 2, D. Domsodi, M. Regos, B. Neszmely
Eger: A. Kiss, P. Jancso, K. Menczinger 2, L. Dobi Dorina, D. Molnar, Z. Katona, R. Parkanyi, D. Czigany 2, Z. Galicz, E. Weston, I. Borsi, K. Bodi Fruzsina, S. Szilagyi, D. Turi
Any hope of a tight clash between league leaders Ferencvaros and European-chasing Eger was disappointingly absent as the hosts dominated the visiting side by 15 goals to 4. Ferencvaros, loaded with its new Hungarian Internationals such as Panna Pocze, Dalma Domsodi and Szonja Kuna, cruised through the game. All of Anna Illes goals (3) were in the second period, and three of Panna Pocze’s four goals were in the third period, by which time the game was over as a contest. Pre-match, the spectacle was really nicely poised, but ultimately Ferencvaros proved why they are currently leading the OB I. Eger will still dream of Europe next season, but they now find themselves four points off fourth-placed BVSC. Kata Menczinger and Dora Czigany both netted twice for the visitors, who travel to DFVE in their next match.
Dunaujvaros 19-6 Szeged (5-2, 4-1, 5-1, 5-2)
Dunaujvaros: L. Maczko, D. Kardos, L. Kardos 1, G. Gurisatti 4, B. Horvath 1, G. Mahieu 2, H. Erdelyi, K. Garda 3, A. Mucsy 4, L. Somogyvari 3, R. Pal, C. Jonkl 1, V. Sumegi Nora, S. Buis
Szeged: B. Gyongyosi, K. Jenei, S. Tatrai 3, A. Torma M. Pap, R. Bicskei 1, Z. Armai 2, N. Varga, D. Pinter Bonita, L. Kucsera
In the Friday evening fixture, Dunaujvarosi were dominant against Szeged for their ninth win of the season. In front of a home crowd, Attila Mihok’s side made short work of the 10 travelling players from Szeged. Krisztina Garda secured a first quarter hat-trick, while two DFVE players, Greta Gurisatti and Anna Mucsy, converted a quad of goals.
Dunaujvaros have a nine game break before taking on Eger up next, while the fixture list for Szeged keeps getting tougher. Tamas Varga’s side face UVSE next.
GYVSE Gyor 10-11 Szentes (2-1, 4-3, 3-3, 1-4)
Gyor: E. Kiss, A. Farkas, L. Frater, B. Baksa, N. Hateier, D. Torok 5, V. Nemeth, V. Huszti, D. Huszti 2, P. Kovacs 1, Z. Finta, I. Droth, K. Kurucz 2, L. Torma
Szentes: R. Aranyi, V. Varga 5, A. Hevesi 1, K. Macsai, V. Dankina 2, T. Kolarova 2, R. Boldizsar, I. Mihaly-Kadar 1, A. Tyukasz, M. Csiszar, B. Biro, Z. Horvath, N. de Vries, J. Futsi Molnar
Szentes really had to work hard this evening to ensure they didn’t stumble against Gyor. They had to come from behind, with the score at one point 5-1 to Gyor, to eventually win the game. In the end, Szentes sealed the game through Anita Hevesi with two and a bit minutes to go, but the performance was anything but convincing from the Saints. Dorina Torok (Gyor) and Victoria Varga (Szentes) both netted five times. Zsolt Vogel may ponder on what may have been, and given that his side led by 5 goals to 1, its hugely disappointing to not come away with any points. However, too often this season Gyor have looked way out of their depth, which is evident when you look at the league table.
BVSC Zuglo 13-7 III Keruleti TVE (4-0, 2-4, 5-2, 2-1)
BVSC: K. Kakas, F. Fekete, K. Meszaros Farkas 2, Z. Horak, A. Krenusz, T. Farkas, E. Batizi, D. Leimeter 6, C. Dobos, N. Kele, L. Kenderes, A. Gemes 2, A. Gyongyossy, Z. Hajdu
Keruleti: B. Papai, G. Brezovszki 1, A. Keresztes, K. Papp, L. Koncz 2, K. Kenez, H. Illes, R. Toth-Deme, P. Kudella 2, K. Kovacs, R. Hajdu, K. Gasparics, N. Koltay, M. Dulic
BVSC consolidated their fourth place position in the OB I with a solid win over Keruleti. Dora Leimeter was the outstanding goal scorer in the game with six goals, while her new international team mate, Tamara Farkas, scored a hat-trick. Despite the defeat for Keruleti, they stay 7th, but are level on points with Szeged. They will host league leaders, FTC, on 9th of February in their next league game. BVSC travel to Szentes on the same day.
UVSE 16-2 Tatabanya (3-0, 4-1, 7-1, 2-0)
UVSE: A. Magyari, T. Aubeli 1, D. Abel-Antal 3, L. Forgacs, G. Szucs 2, R. Keszthelyi-Nagy 5, Z. Koka, K. Farago 3, P. Szegedi 1, R. Radli, R. Irmes, E. Macsai, K. Hajdu, S. Golopencza.
Tatabanya: I. Zirighne Sos, H. Zantleitner, N. Zantleitner, P. Zink, B. Orban 1, T. Zold, K. Hollosi, L. Soti, M. Szedlak, B. Bozso, J. Kovacs, L. Greso.
UVSE were very convincing winners against Tatabanya as the league’s top goal-scorer, Rita Keszthelyi, netted 5 goals. In a game of very little competition, two of UVSE’s Hungarian internationals, Dora Abel-Antal and Kamilla Farago scored hat-tricks, while Aubeli, Szucs, Szegedi and Irmes all also featured on the scoresheet. UVSE have 10 days to recharge the batteries before taking on Szeged in the league, while Tatabanya will, no doubt, be training really hard for their ‘6-pointer’ clash with Gyor.
