In the Netherlands, only the men took action this weekend. Polar Bears won the battle for third place in the rankings and Waterpolo Den Haag and PSV surprisingly won.
In Ede, Polar Bears won against UZSC and thus settles more firmly in place 3. The most spectacle took place in the fourth period when there were still nine goals to be scored. UZSC also had some personnel problems at the end with three players on the side with three personal fouls. Then UZSC couldn’t stop Polar Bears going from 9-9 to 12-10.
GZC Donk lashed out against BZC. In the east of the Netherlands it was no less than 10-27. BZC seems to have lost its form quite a bit. GZC Donk moved easily through the BZC defense and the team of former international Jeroen Kuilman, as in fact all season, lacked power in the attacks. Guus van Yperen became top scorer with six goals.
PSV surprisingly won against ZVL-1886. In the ranking the difference was more than twenty points, but in the water there was nothing to notice. PSV handed out the final blow in the last period. Then the home team turned a 10-11 deficit into the 14-11 victory.
Waterpolo Den Haag also won. It became 10-9 against ZPB. The turnaround came in the third period when The Hague broke a 4-6 deficit into the 10-7 end score in the fourth period. On behalf of ZPB Petar Filipovic did something back twice, but it was not enough for at least one point. With this victory, Waterpolo Den Haag rose one spot in the ranking to the eleventh place.
Due to the victories of PSV and Waterpolo Den Haag, SVH saw the difference with the other relegation candidates only grow. Because SVH itself could not beat ZPC Amersfoort. In Rotterdam it became 8-17. The match got off to a strange start. The first three Amersfoort goals came from penalty’s, so SVH quickly faced a 0-3 deficit. In the second and third period, the visitors further increased the goal production, making it impossible for SVH to hook up.
