France and Italy will meet for the second time at the U19 European Championships in Netanya in the 5th/6th play-off matches.
France defeated CroatiaΒ 10-7 thanks to six goals from the arm of Ema Vernoux, and a hat-trick from their increasingly impressive left-hander, Julliete Dhalluin.

Italy had a slightly easier ride in their game, defeating the home side Israel 9-5. Braces from Aurora Longo and Vittoria Sbruzzi, as well as conversions by Emma De March, Maddalena Paganello, Dorotea Spampinato, Marta Giuffrida and Lavinia Pap, helping the Setterosa on their way.
France beat Italy 11-8 in the group stage, with the Junior Setterosa capitulating in the second period, with Vernoux scoring four in that game.

Elsewhere today in the classification games, Slovakia secured 13th place with a victory over Romania. In a really close contest, two early strikes in the last quarter for Slovakia from Veronika Strompova and Martina Kiernoszova essentially sealed the game for the Slovaks.
Slovakia’s captain, Lenka Garancovska, scored three times in the contest.
