Pro Recco recently announced another transferΒ βΒ Italian player Alessandro Velotto.
Born in Naples in 1995, Velotto is a talented defender coming from CC Napoli. With his old team, Velotto has won several championships in youth categories, attracting a lot of attention of the general water polo community.
Despite his young age, he’s been building quite a career before coming to Italian number one club. In the national team, he’s already had over 100 appearances, winning two bronzes, at the European Championship in Budapest in 2014 and at the Rio Olympics in 2016. Also, he wonΒ silver at the Ruza World League in 2017.
To this, Alessandro commented:
“I’m very happy to join Pro Recco. I’ve been talking about it for a long time and I think this is the right time to take such an important step. The opportunity to establish myself as a player here is enormous. And it could not be the other way since Pro Recco is the strongest team in the world who has extraordinary players and Ratko Rudic as a coach. Being coached by the greatest in our sport has been a decisive factor in my choice, and I’ll do my best to convince him to make me play as much as possible.
The goal, of course, is to win all games. I will work hard to bring my qualities into the club. From my teammates in the national team, I heard only great things about Pro Recco, from the playstyles to the organization itself. I cannot wait to start.”
