In the second round of Hungarian Championship, Group A had finally seen the giants Ferencvaros and BVSC clash in the pool. The white-greens celebrated with 14:6. In group B, Szolnoki met their first defeat as OSC continued their flawless winning streak.
Group A
The host started pressing hard against their opponents in the first quarter when Tamas Sedlmayer opened the goal-hunting season. The corner of BVSC’s net shook in the sign of the first goal and both teams forced the attacks.
In the third minute, Varga – the captain of the home team – scored, followed by the first goal from the other side of the pool, thanks to Kristof Varnai. The quarter ended with 3:1 for the hosts.
The second one was opened by Aaron Younger‘s action and a quick reply from Csaba Meszaros. But that didn’t stop the host from pushing even harder, scoring three more goals by the end of the halftime (6:1).
BVSC was close to catching up in the third quarter, but they were already so far behind that everyone has seen the game was over. By the time Vamos and Varga scored the final goals, the game was over – the host celebrated with 14:6.
Mark Matajsz and the boys from Avus got their first one on Saturday. PVSK showed some resistance, but they were kept at the safe distance throughout the game as Garancsy, Irmes, and Basara led Avus to 10:7.
In the last match of Group A, Szentesi celebrated over KSI with 10:6, writing down their first victory.
Group B
There were quite a few tense actions in Group B’s highlighted match – Szolnoki vs OSC. Milan Aleksic and Daniel Angyal opened the big battle under Gocic’s lead. With hard resistance and a counter-attack from Nemanja Ubovic, the first halftime ended in suspending 5:3 in Szolnoki’s favor.
In the third quarter, Szolnoki played overconfidently, soon paying for their mistakes as OSC took the lead easily, scoring five goals in just one quarter. Prlainovic tried saving the situation, but his goal made little difference on the end score. The whole match allowed OSC to continue their dominance in the group, adding the 8:10 score to their five-match winning streak.
As for the other two matches in the group, Kapsovari played a draw with Vasas, and UVSE won over Tatabanya with only a goal-difference.
