The stage is set for the Womenβs Champions League Quarter Finals, as the draw for the final eight leaves much excitement.Β
It is a rare occurrence, but there are no clear favourites in any of the four upcoming quarterfinals, which will make for excellent box office viewing in February.Β
Champions League games are played over two legs, with the first leg taking place on 11 February and the second on 25 February.
Olympiacos, the reigning champions, will face an inconsistent but extremely dangerous Mataro side.Β
Meanwhile, five-time European Champions Sabadell will need to be on guard against Roma, one of Europe’s most fluid offensive teams. Both teams have been formidable thus far this season, and both are currently atop their respective domestic leagues.Β
Mediterrani, who have been somewhat lacklustre in the Spanish League this season, performed exceptionally well to advance to this round. They take on Dunaujvaros, who continue to dig deep, and are the only Hungarian side still in the competition.Β
Ekipe Orizzonte, the most successful team in European Club competition (eight-time European Champions), will provide excellent entertainment when they face Glyfada, the two-time winner of this competition.Β Β
