Yesterday (February 18, 2019) a conference was held between the Croatian and Serbian Water Polo Federations, considering the latest incident in Split with Crvena Zvezda’s players. After the initial disagreements, the two Federations met up in Belgrade, along with the Serbian clubs’ representatives, to take action about the future of the Regional League.
The following points were concluded:
- One more time, the conference condemns the incident that is the attack on the players from Crvena Zvezda
- Given the request coming from Crvena Zvezda – that the matches were not to be played in Split due to players’ traumas – and considering that VK Mornar does not carry any responsibility, the matches between the two teams are postponed until further notice
- The support for the further competition within the Regional League was made by all clubs playing in the League
- The next session of the UO RVL will be held on March 12, 2019, before the Europa Cup/World League Croatia – Serbia in Sisak, Croatia
The statement was confirmed by Perica Bukić after the meeting.
