Most of the matches in the 14th round of the Hungarian League were lopsided contests.
Favorites, Ferencvaros, OSC, Vasas, Szolnok, and Honved, collected points with convincing wins.
Ferencvaros had the most demanding task of the five favorites. It played against BVSC, which kept up with the leader for more than two quarters. Still, Ferenvcaros dominated in the last 12 minutes and recorded a comfortable 17:11 victory.

Ferencvaros, playing without Soma Vogel (who is still injured) and Denes Varga, defeated BVSC convincingly, but BVSC didn’t disappoint. BVSC led 4:2 at the beginning of the second quarter and 5:4 at halftime. The home team netted two back-to-back goals in the 2nd minute of the third quarter and went ahead (6:5). But, BVSC didn’t surrender. It leveled the score at 6:6 and 7:7. Ferencvaros produced a 10:4 run in the last 12 minutes and secured a convincing victory.
Other favorites – OSC, Szolnok, Vasas, and Honved – played better than Ferencvaros in defense.
OSC ran over Miskolc (20:6) with six goals from Krisztian Manhercz and four from Erik Csacsovszky.
Vasas welcomed KSI, which took a 1:0 lead. After a slow start, Vasas fired on all cylinders, scored 11 goals in a row, went to 11:1 (21st minute), and never looked back. Ivan Nagaev scored five goals in an 18:2 victory. Vasas’ first-pick goalkeeper Branislav Mitrovic and Sava Randjelovic missed the game.
Honved showed no mercy to UVSE (15:5). An opening 7:0 rush put the favorite on the right track.
Szolnok opened the match against Eger with a 3:0 lead. The visitors cut the deficit to one goal (2:3). However, Szolnok replied with four goals to jump to 7:2 and controlled the game until the end (11:4). Goalkeeper Mark Banyai helped Szolnok win with 16 saves.
Kaposvar and Szeged shared the points (11:11), but the visiting team is a real winner of this duel. Kaposvar dictated the pace for most of the time and had a 3-goal lead several times (4:1, 5:2, 7:4, 8:5, 11:8). But, the hosts didn’t score a single goal in the last 9:50 minutes. Szeged produced a 3:0 run and leveled at 11:11 in the 30th minute. Both teams had a chance to score a winner, but there were no goals in the last two minutes.
The match in Pecs ended with no winner, too – PVSK – Szentes 9:9. There were a few twists and turns in the game. In the 25th minute, PVSK had a 2-goal advantage (8:6). However, Szentes scored three straight goals and earned a 9:8 lead with 3:16 minutes left on the clock. A minute later, PVSK’s Lajko set the final score.
