There was no big battle and thrills in the most anticipated match of the 24th round of the Hungarian League.

Ferencvaros mathematically confirmed 1st place before the playoffs with a 19:9 victory over PVSK. The points earned in the derby against Szolnok secured 2nd place for OSC with two rounds left until the end of the regular season.

As expected, Ferencvaros easily beat PVSK Pecs 19:9 and cemented 1st place.
But, few could expect that the duel between 2nd-placed and 4th-placed would be almost the same as the match Ferencvaros – PVSK. OSC beat Szolnok by 10 goals. OSC led 3:0 after three minutes of play. In the 12th minute, the hosts already had a 7-goal lead (8:1) and killed all the suspense. OSC maintained a 7-goal lead until the middle break. Both teams scored four goals apiece in the third quarter. OSC reached a double-digit margin in the 27th minute when Krisztian Manhercz netted his fourth goal (17:7). In the next 30 seconds, the teams exchanged goals. Vince Vigvari made it 18:8 in the 28th minute, which was the final score since there were no goals in the remaining time.
OSC is in 2nd place with seven points more than 3rd-placed Vasas. These two teams will meet in the 25th round on Thursday. The game won’t be important for OSC, but Vasas needs points to keep an advantage ahead of Szolnok, which is two points behind Vasas. Szolnok will have a very demanding task on Wednesday when it will host Ferencvaros.
Honved convincingly defeated KSI, even though it started very badly. In the fifth minute, KSI led 4:1. Honved struggled, but it earned a slim 6:5 advantage by the end of the first half. KSI leveled at 6:6 in the third period, but Honved responded with a 4:0 run for a safe 10:6 advantage and increased the margin to seven by the end of the game (16:9).
The most interesting game of the day was an encounter between Miskolc and Szentes. Nikola Brkic netted six goals to help Miskolc record a 10:9 victory. There were a few turns in the first half. Before the final quarter, the sides were tied at 7:7. Miskolc earned a 9:7 lead with two goals from Brkic in the first three minutes of the fourth quarter. In the middle of the quarter, Miskolc had a 10:8 advantage. Szentes reduced the gap to one (9:10) three minutes before the final buzzer, but it couldn’t equalize.
