Intense and competitive matchups were on display in the latest round of the Italian water polo league. Brescia and Telimar triumphed in derbies, while Pro Recco, Roma, and Ortigia cruised to easy wins. However, Bogliasco saluted the Italian league with a loss to Anzio, and Salerno had to overcome a tough challenge from Catania to secure a hard-fought victory.

Brescia clinched another victory against Trieste with a final score of 5:14 in the derby. Brescia took an early lead with two goals, making it 2:4 at the start of the match. However, in the second quarter, the visitors dominated with a series of three consecutive goals, bringing the score to 2:7 at halftime. In the third period, Trieste managed to reduce the difference to 5:9, but Brescia finish the job in the last period by scoring five goals and not allowing Trieste to score any more goals, ending the game with a 5:14 victory.
In the derby match, Telimar emerged victorious against Savona with a final score of 9:13. The game started with Telimar taking the lead with a score of 0:1. However, Savona quickly retaliated with two goals, bringing the score to 2:1. Telimar wasn’t ready to give up just yet, and by the end of the first quarter, they had managed to regain the lead with a score of 2:3. The second period saw both teams going neck and neck, with neither team being able to pull ahead significantly. The score at the end of the second quarter was 4:5, with Telimar still in the lead. The third quarter started with Savona taking the lead once again, with a score of 6:5 in their favor. However, the visitors quickly responded and managed to score a goal in the 24th minute, bringing the score to 7:8. The final quarter saw a lot of action, with both teams scoring multiple goals. With just a few minutes left in the game, Savona managed to take the lead once again with a score of 9:8. However, Telimar managed to score an impressive series of 5 consecutive goals in the final minutes of the game. This brought the final score to 9-13, with Telimar emerging as the clear victor.
Anzio claimed a convincing victory against Bogliasco in a high-scoring game, with a final score of 23:16. Anzio took an early lead of 5:2 in the first quarter. By halftime, Anzio maintained their lead with a score of 9:6. Anzio extended their advantage with a series of 4 consecutive goals, bringing the score to 19:11 with 29 minutes played. Despite the deficit, Bogliasco continued to battle and managed to reduce the gap by scoring 5 more goals. However, Anzio maintained their lead and ultimately won the game by a margin of 7 goals, with a final score of 23:16.
In a thrilling waterpolo match, Salerno took the lead with a score of 4:3 in the first quarter. However, Catania responded with a great second period, making a series of impressive plays to bring the score to 5:7 at halftime. In the third quarter, Salerno made a comeback and managed to take the lead with a score of 11:10 going into the final period. In the last period, the home team came out strong and grew their advantage, ultimately securing a hard-fought victory with a final score of 13:11.
Roma took an easy victory against De Akker in a match with a final score of 10:4. The match started with De Akker taking the lead with a score of 1:2, but Roma quickly turned the game around with a series of four goals, taking a big advantage with a score of 5:2. Throughout the rest of the match, Roma continued to dominate, growing their lead to six goals for the final result of 10:4. Despite De Akker’s initial lead, they were unable to keep up with Roma’s strong performance and were ultimately defeated.
Pro Recco claimed a comfortable 19:8 victory after a challenging first quarter. The opening period was evenly matched with both teams tied at 3:3. However, in the 9th minute, Quinto managed to take the lead with a score of 3:4. Pro Recco quickly responded by scoring five consecutive goals to end the second quarter with a commanding 8:4 lead. In the second half, the hosts continued to dominate and increased their lead to 11 goals, resulting in a final score of 19:8.
Ortigia emerged victorious in a closely contested match against Posillipo, with a final score of 10:5. Saw the visitors from Naples take an early lead of 2:0 in the first quarter. However, Ortigia quickly bounced back in the second quarter, scoring three goals to take a narrow lead of 3-2. The rest of the first half was evenly matched, with both teams scoring a goal each to make the score 4:3 at halftime. The third quarter saw the hosts grow their lead to 6:4, thanks to two well-taken goals. Posillipo tried to mount a comeback in the final quarter, but Ortigia’s defense held firm, conceding only one goal while scoring four more to seal a comfortable victory.
