Dynamo Uralochka has claimed the Russian women’s league title after a 20-year period of domination by KINEF Kirishi. This marks the sixth championship for Dynamo, who overcame SKIF in the semifinals by a narrow margin of 20-19. Meanwhile, Burevestnik eliminated KINEF in the other semifinal match, putting an end to their longstanding reign.

In the first period, the white-capped Burevestnik had taken an early lead, scoring two goals to Dynamo’s one. However, Dynamo made a comeback in the second period, with a high-scoring performance that saw them tie the score at 7-7. The second half of the game saw both teams scoring five goals each, with neither side able to establish a clear advantage over the other. With the score tied at the end of the game, the match went into a penalty series to determine the winner. In the penalty shootout, Dynamo managed to maintain their composure and secure the victory with a final score of 15-16.

Burevestnik secured their place in the final by defeating KINEF with a score of 10-12 in the first semifinal. The first quarter of the game was evenly matched with both teams scoring three goals each, resulting in a score of 3-3. However, in the second quarter, KNIEF managed to take the lead with a score of 4-3, which they maintained until the end of the half-time. In the third period, Burevestnik made a strong comeback, managing to level the score at 6-6. The final eight minutes of the game were very intense, with both teams scoring two goals each, leading to a tie at the end of the match with a score of 8-8. The game was then decided by a shootout, where Burevestnik proved to be the better team and managed to secure their place in the final.

SKIF tried to respond, but they were unable to convert their chances, and Dynamo took a 6-3 lead into halftime. In the fourth period, SKIF came out with renewed energy and determination, and they managed to tie the game at 8-8 with three goals. Dynamo tried to retake the lead, but they were unable to break through SKIF’s defense, and the score remained tied at the end of the quarter. With the game tied, the match went into a shootout to determine the winner. Dynamo managed to hold their nerve, and they emerged victorious with a final score of 20-19.
