Olympiacos continues to assert their dominance in Greek water polo, clinching their tenth league title with a convincing 10-5 victory over Vouliagmeni in the third play-off final.
Securing their third consecutive win in the best-of-five series, Olympiacos proudly adds the national championship to their growing collection of silverware this season, which already includes the LEN SuperCup and the Greek Cup.
Just four days after Olympiacos’ men’s team triumphed over Vouliagmeni in the championship final, there was a sense of déjà vu as the women’s team achieved a similar feat, displaying even greater conviction in their performance.
With this latest triumph, the Red-Whites now boast an impressive tally of thirteen league titles to their name, further solidifying their status as a dominant force in Greek women’s water polo.

Was there ever any doubt that Olympiacos would be crowned national champions?
From the very start of the season, through to all three play-off final victories over Vouliagmeni, Olympiacos have been a class above the rest. Today’s 10-5 win in the third final was no different.
The game lacked excitement from the start as the Red-Whites made a blistering start, quickly establishing a commanding 3-0 lead within the first eight minutes. Eleftheria Plevritou, Christmas, and Chydirioti were the key contributors to this early dominance. Ioanna Stamtopoulou played a crucial role in preserving their lead by denying Vouliagmeni’s Eleni Elliniadi’s 5m penalty.
The momentum continued to favour the reigning champions as they extended their lead to 5-0, leaving Vouliagmeni struggling to make an impact. However, Vouliagmeni managed to make their mark on the scoresheet through Emma Wright from Canada and Australian player Amy Ridge, both of whom are likely to leave the team next season. The score now stood at 5-2.
Vasiliki Plevritou, displaying patience and determination, seized her opportunity in the second period and delivered two well-executed goals. This further solidified the Red-Whites’ dominance as they maintained a five-goal lead heading into the final eight minutes of the match, which had already lost its competitive edge.
