Five goals from Maddie Musselman guided the United States to a second win in their three game series against Greece (9-11).
Those in attendance enjoyed another quality match in Atherton, California, between two powerhouses of women’s waterpolo. The three game series is a precursor to the World Cup Finals in ten days time.
Greece competed well, as they did in the first game on Saturday. The travelling side led by two scores in the third period (8-6), but the reigning Olympic champions, eager to build winning momentum ahead of the World Cup Finals in Long Beach, showed excellent poise to take a second successive victory against the Blue-Whites.
Two-peat Total Player award winner Maddie Musselman scored five of the six shots she took in the match. There was always a typically formidable showing from Maggie Steffens, who put in a fine all-round display.
