Brescia, the second-best Italian club, has confirmed its fourth reinforcement this summer.
Francesco Faraglia, a 22-year-old player, joined Brescia from Roma Nuoto, the club that finished 9th in the last season's Serie A1.
He signed a multi-year contract. Faraglia was one of the top scorers in the 2023 Italian League, playing for Roma ( the club's full name is Distretti Ecologici Nuoto Roma), with 54 goals in the regular season. Due to his very good performances last season, Italy's head coach Alessandro Campagna called him up for the national team preparations for the World Cup Final and the World Championships.
Brescia has confirmed four reinforcements so far, including Max Irving, the best scorer of the 2022/23 regular season of the Italian League, who arrived from Telimar Palermo with 62 goals.
Stefano Guerrato (26) and Edoardo Manzi (25) left De Akker Bologna to join Brescia. Manzi, the fourth-best scorer of the regular season in the 2023 Serie A1 (59 goals), returned to Brescia after five years. Meanwhile, he played for Posillipo, Hungarian Miskolc, Bogliasco, and De Akker in the past two seasons.
Brescia has signed several excellent goal-getters to replace attackers who left the club. Three players have departed - two lefties, Boris Vapenski (Dinamo Tbilisi) and Konstantin Kharkov (Jadran Split), and experienced Stefano Luongo, who signed for De Akker Bologna.
