All the available slots for the 2024 European Championships in Netanya have been filled.
Eight qualifiers will join the nations previously qualified to complete in a 16-strong field at the 20th edition of the women’s tournament.
An impressive looking Great Britain will return to Europe’s top table for the first time since Budapest 2014 after finishing top of Group D, while there will be a debut appearance in Netanya for the national team of Bulgaria.
The highest ranked team in the qualification round, Serbia, dominated Group C, and progress alongside the Czechia – who last competed at the tournament proper back in 1997.
European Championship bronze medalists from 1985, Germany, will have the opportunity to surpass their 10th place finish in Split. Meanwhile, Slovakia aspires to avoid a repeat of their last-place finish (12th) on the Dalmatian Coast, striving for an improved performance.
Amongst a the chaos in Otopeni, Romania and Turkiye emerged as the two strongest teams in a highly competitive Group B, securing their second and third appearances, respectively, in the European Championships.
Reigning champions Spain, medalists from Split Greece and Italy, as well as the remaining top eight; Netherlands, Hungary, Israel (hosts), France and Croatia had already secured their place for the tournament.
