Spain are the U15 European Champions for the second time in the competition’s short history.
The Spanish defeated Greece 10-4 in the final, to follow up their 2019 gold medal with another at the home of Mladost in the Croatian capital. Spain dominated the second period and made advantage 2-4 which grew until the end of the match 4-10.
In the match for third place, the reigning champions Hungary took victory against Italy 14-8. As the match progressed into the middle periods, the Hungarian team faced off against Italy in the battle for third place. The Hungarians showcased their strength and tactical superiority, creating a crucial difference of 11-5 during this phase of the game. The teams exchanged goals, with each side scoring two in the final period. Hungary’s earlier advantage proved insurmountable for Italy, resulting in a final score of 14-8.
A big third quarter from the Netherlands ensured their victory over the hosts, Croatia, with a final score of 15-13. The Croatians have now finished 6th in the last three U15 European Championships. Four unanswered goals in the last quarter helped Germany defeat Serbia 13-9, securing 7th place.
Israel kept Turkiye scoreless in the last eight minutes of their contest, resulting in a well-deserved 9-4 victory and 9th place, while 10th place remains a great achievement for the Turks. Teodora Diaconu’s impressive performance of ten goals, including 5 penalties, led Romania to a 15-13 victory over Czechia.
A confident final day win for the Republic of Ireland over Ukraine ensured their 13th place finish.
