Two pairs of brothers will play for the male Team USA at the World Championships in Fukuoka – the brothers Dodd and Woodhead.
Chase and Ryder Dodd and their young teammates wrote an important page in the history of American water polo several weeks ago. They won the bronze medal at the World U20 Championships in Otopeni, the first-ever medal for the USA at all men’s age-group World Championships (from U16 to the senior categories).
Chase was on the team that played in the Worlds in Budapest last year, while Ryder will debut at a major senior competition.
Dylan Woodhead has been a member of Team USA for several years. He competed at the Tokyo Olympics. His younger brother Quinn has never played at the Worlds before.
Both brothers Dodd and Woodhead won bronze with the USA in the World Cup ten days ago.
Besides Ryder Dodd and Chase Dodd, new names on the roster picked by head coach Dejan Udovicic, compared to the 2022 World Championships, are two Olympians, Luca Cupido and Johnny Hooper, and Tyler Abramson, who played for the USA in the World League and the World Cup.
Jake Ehrhardt, Benjamin Stevenson, and Mathew Farmer, who represented the USA in Budapest, aren’t on the list.

Field players: Johnny Hooper, Chase Dodd, Tyler Abramson, Ben Hallock, Luca Cupido, Hannes Daube, Dylan Woodhead, Quin Woodhead, Ryder Dodd, Alex Bowen, Marko Vavic, Thomas Gruwell, Max Irving,
Team USA, which finished 6th at the 2022 Worlds, is in the group with Greece, Australia, and Kazakhstan.
