Jug Dubrovnik has brought the third reinforcement for the upcoming season.
After Sergi Cabanas and Rino Buric, American Hannes Daube joined the squad of the four-time European champion.
Daube has been a regular member of Team USA for six years. He participated in the Tokyo Olympics, as well as in the World Championships in 2019 and 2022. After the group stage at the 20th World Championships in Fukuoka, Daube is the third-best scorer with 11 goals. He won silver in the World League last year, bronze in the 2023 World Cup, and was crowned Pan American champion in 2019.
Daube played for the USC Trojans and won the 2018 NCAA Championships. He arrived in Europe for the first time in 2020 and wore Olympiacos cap during the 2020/21 season. Then Daube returned to the USA, but after a short break, he continued his career in the European water polo last season, helping Marseille to win the 2023 French League and the French Cup. According to an earlier made agreement, Daube didn't play in the first half of the season and joined Marseille in January, shortly before the French Cup.
Three players departed from Jug – Loren Fatovic (Jadran Split), Konstantinos Kakaris (Pro Recco), and Matias Biljaka (Jadran).
