Head Coach of the United States Women’s National Team, Adam Krikorian, took to Instagram to share his thoughts on the team’s remarkable achievements over the past ten years.
Team USA’s esteemed coach recently posted a heartfelt reflection on Instagram, looking back on a decade of unparalleled success. With 15 consecutive world titles under their belt, including three Olympic gold medals, Krikorian expressed immense gratitude and admiration for the athletes, staff, and supporters who contributed to this remarkable journey.

In the emotional post, Krikorian began by acknowledging the recent World Championships, where the team secured a respectable fifth-place finish. Despite the outcome, he couldn’t help but marvel at the “make-believe run of results” achieved over the past ten years. The team’s incredible run included an impressive collection of 15 world titles, which encompassed 3 world cups, 7 world league titles, 4 world championships, and 3 Olympic Games victories.
The United States Women’s National Water Polo Team has been a force to be reckoned with under Krikorian’s guidance, and he expressed a firm belief that such an extraordinary feat will be challenging, if not impossible, to replicate. His dedication to the sport and the athletes is evident, as he thanked everyone involved for holding themselves to the highest standards and always putting the team’s success first.

The Adam Krikorian Story
Adam Krikorian’s journey in water polo has been nothing short of exceptional. Born on July 22, 1974, in Santa Clara, California, he has been actively involved in the sport for decades. As both a player and coach at UCLA, he won 15 NCAA national championships, an impressive record that cements his place in water polo history.
Krikorian has been the head coach of the United States Women’s National Team since 2009, and under his leadership, the team has achieved unprecedented success, including gold medals at the 2012, 2016, and 2020 Olympic Games. Along the way, Krikorian and Team USA established the modern record for consecutive wins in women’s water polo with 69 victorious matches in a row.
Outside of his coaching career, Krikorian has a deeply personal connection to water polo. He was born into an Armenian-American family and was the youngest son of Gary Krikorian and Joyce Srabian. He followed his brothers, Blake and Jason, into the pool, with Blake also playing water polo at UCLA.
