Twenty-four teams will participate in the Womenβs Champions League the following season.
According to the new formula, the national federations ranked 1-6 in the LEN Womenβs Club Country Ranking can enter the competition, with up to the 5 top ranked clubs from their rSpainective national leagues. The teams from Spain, Greece, Hungary, Italy, France and the Netherlands are currently in the top six. Besides the clubs from these countries, the champions of other countries could choose if they will start the season in the Champions League or the LEN Challenger Cup. The German champion Spandau decided to play in the Champions League qualifications.
Four champions of the top four ranked countries are already qualified for the group stage: reigning European champion Sabadell (Spain), Olympiacos (Greece), Eger (Hungary) and Orizzonte (Italy).
Twelve teams from the qualifications will join them (the top three from each group).
The draw for the qualifications was made today. The teams were sorted into pots according to the LEN’s Club Country Ranking.
Qualifications (September 22 β 24)
There will be several national derbies in the Qualifications and maybe the most interesting one will be the clash between UVSE and Ferencvaros in the group in Budapest. UVSE, which is the host, was in the first, and Ferencvaros in the second pot of the draw.

Group B (Mulhose): Plebiscito Padova (Italy), Mediterrani (Spain), Ethnikos (Greece), Β Mulhouse WP (France), Pallanuoto Triste (Italy),
Group C (Mataro): Mataro (Spain), Vouliagmeni (Greece), Terrassa (Spain), BVSC Zuglo (Hungary), Β ZV De Zaan (Netherlands),
Group D (Roma, host SIS): Β Dunaujvaros (Hungary), SIS Roma (Italy), Lille (France), Sant Andreu (Spain), Grand Nancy (France).
Qualifications are scheduled for September 22 – 24
The top eight non-qualifying clubs from the Champions League qualifications will compete in the LEN Euro Cup. The Group Stage will consist of two groups of four teams, competing in a home-and-away format. The top two ranked teams from each group will advance to the Final Four.
The calendar of the group stage β Day 1: 7 October; Day 2: 21 October; Day 3: 21 October; Day 4: November 25; Day 5: 9 March; Day 6: March 23.
