The Council of the Italian Federation of aquatic sports (FIN) held a meeting today. FIN decided to suspend the conduct of all competitions and sporting events, of all levels and locations, until March 1st. Firstly, FIN canceled the events in the regions Lombardy and Veneto where the majority of Italy’s cases of coronavirus were confirmed. Still, the Federation changed the decision today, because of avoiding discrepancies in the activities planned on the national territory.
That means that the 16th round of the Italian League, scheduled for Wednesday, is postponed, as well as the Final Four of the Italian Cup, which was supposed to held in Brescia next weekend (February 29th – March 1st).
In the semifinals of the Italian Cup, Pro Recco, which defends the trophy, will play against Sport Management, while Brescia and Ortigia will face off in the second match.
To remind, the Asian Water Polo Championship won’t be played because of the coronavirus spread
