In group A of the Dutch Cup competition, AZC made no mistake against SVH. With an 11:8 victory, the team from Alphen aan den Rijn takes the lead in group A. Still, it took a long time before the record cup holder shook off the visitors. SVH came back to 9:8 in the fourth quarter. But after that Thomas Glansdorp and Laszlo Balasz Nagy threw the door permanently closed for SVH. GZC Donk did good business against ZV De Zaan. In Zaandam, the team from Gouda won 10:14. The difference was made in the first half of the match. BZC took its first points. Against ZPB it became 11:9. It was not easy. In the second quarter, BZC seemed to take the game by turning a 2:0 deficit into a 5:2 lead. In the third quarter, however, ZPB came back completely. A final BZC-sprint in the last quarter ensured that ZPB returned home with a defeat.
UZSC is sovereign in the lead in group B. The team from Utrecht beat ZVL-1886 (16:9). Only in the first and the third quarter in particular UZSC was convincingly the better team. The team of Roeland Spijker ran from 7:5 to 12:6. Joep de Jong became the top scorer with five goals. There was more tension in Eindhoven, where Polar Bears was just too strong for PSV in a goal-rich duel. It became 16:17 with a star role for Kas te Riele (seven goals). Because of this win, PSV sees the gap with the competitors at the bottom of the ranking in group B widening. In the same group, Het Ravijn raged against De Ham. The visitors from Nijverdal returned home with a clear 7:20 victory. With that, Het Ravijn made a jump in the rankings to second place.
Women
In the women category, ZV De Zaan won the topper in group A from UZSC (10:7). Both teams were still unbeaten, so the bet was the lead. Maxine Schaap was the biggest tease for the team from Utrecht. She scored four times. Polar Bears got its first points by beating PSV with 9:15. The home team could follow Polar Bears for one quarter. After that, the team from Ede steadily progressed to the big victory.
It is very exciting in group B. Three teams lead together. ZVL-1886, GZC Donk and Het Ravijn all have six points from three matches. On Saturday, GZC Donk beat ZVL (14:8) thanks to a strong last period (6:1). De Ham is the only team in this group that has no points yet. This time the team from Krommenie lost big to Het Ravijn (20:11).
