The derby of the 19th round of the Spanish League lacked excitement. The most important game of the day was an encounter between the contenders for 3rd place. Barcelona welcomed Terrassa. Barcelona recorded a big 13:6 victory and practically secured position 3.
The league leader Sabadell beat last-placed Caballa with ease – 13:3. Barceloneta ran over Mataro 15:6.

Rubi – Caballa 11:7
Barcelona dictated the pace from the beginning of the derby. In the 6th minute, the hosts had a 3-goal lead (4:1). By the middle break, the home side stretched the margin to five (8:3), but it didn’t stop there. Barcelona added two goals (one with an extra player and the other from a penalty) early in the third quarter and jumped to a 10:3 lead. Terrassa couldn’t recover. In the remaining time, the teams exchanged goals and Barcelona maintained a 7-goal distance (13:6).
Sabadell, playing excellently in defense, left no chance to Caballa (13:3).
Barceloneta beat Mataro easier than expected. The title-holder’s excellent start determined the rest of the encounter. Barceloneta knocked down Mataro with an opening 8:1 series. The champion controlled the game and cruised to a 15:6 victory,
The encounter between Sant Andreu and Mediterrani and Tenerife–Catalunya match was very exciting. The scores were the same.
Mediterrani entered the final period leading 5:3. Sant Andreu opened the final quarter with two gaols and leveled at 5:5 (28th minute). But, the sides weren’t tied for long as Radic gave the visitors a 6:5 lead shortly after. However, the finish of the game belonged to the hosts. Chmyr leveled at 6:6. Frigola scored a winner by converting a man-up two seconds before the end and Sant Andreu recorded a 7:6 win.
Tenerife produced a late comeback, like Mediterrani, to defeat Catalunya. It looked like Catalunya would beat the hosts with ease. Catalunya led 5:1 in the middle of the second period. But, shortly after, the teams switched roles. Tenerife started dominating. The islanders produced a 5:0 run and took a 6:5 lead (the 27th minute). Two and a half minutes before the end, Alvarino ended Catalunya’s goalless phase that lasted for 18 minutes and equalized (6:6). Alegre gave Tenerife a 7:6 lead and set the final score in the next possession.
Real Canoe earned an important away win over Rubi in its efforts to avoid relegation.
