Waspo 98 Hannover made a big step towards the title of the German champion.
Waspo defeated Spandau 04 9:6 in the second match of the playoffs finals in Berlin today. On Wednesday, Hannover celebrated a 12:10 win on home soil, and it leads 2:0 in the best-of-five series.
The third game, which can be the last in the series, will be played tomorrow. Spandau will be the host again.

Spandau opened the match with an action goal in the first possession, but Hannover took control shortly after.
By the end of the first quarter, the visitors built a 3:1 advantage. Spandau equalized twice in the second period (3:3 and 4:4).
However, after the hosts’ fourth goal, Waspo produced a new 3:0 rush. Waspo entered the last period with a 7:4 lead and didn’t let Spandau come back.
Hannover played very well in defense. After the 4th goal, Spandau couldn’t score for almost 12 minutes. In the final quarter, the home team just reduced the gap twice (5:7 and 6:8), but Hannover’s win wasn’t in danger. The visiting side answered after both goals.
Spandau will have a difficult task to come back after 0:2, although the Berliners will be the hosts in tomorrow’s match and a possible fifth game.

OSC Potsdam won the 3rd place and secured the spot in the Champions League Qualification Round. The Potsdam-based team defeated White Sharks Hannover in both games of the playoffs for the third place (best of three).
