Big wins for favorites in Croatia; Crvena Zvezda beats Sabac

The national championships in Croatia and Serbia have started.

Four games have been played in Croatia so far. Favorites Jug, Jadran and Mladost recorded convincing victories. Crvena Zvezda beat Sabac in the opening game of the Serbian League.

2022/23 Croatian League, Day 1

Jug – Mornar 16:4 (3:1, 6:1, 5:1, 2:1)

Jug: Grgurevic 3, Zuvela 3, Burdjelez 2, Zvono 2, Kakaris 2, Fatovic 1, Jokovic 1, Vukojevic 1,
Mornar: Curkovic 1, Buzdovancic 1, Buselic 1, Guduric 1.

Jadran S – KPK Korcula 22:2 (7:0, 6:0, 4:0, 5:2)

Jadran Split:Butic 4, Tomasovic 4, Marinic Kragic 3, Cagalj 3, Zilic 2, Pejkovic 1, Pavlovic 1, Dodoja 1, Delic 1Duzevic 1.
KPK Korcula: Begovic 2.

Mladost – Medvescak 18:7 (9:2, 4:2, 3:2, 3:1)

Zadar – Primorje postopned to October 11

Reigning champion Jug opened the season with a 16:4 victory over Mornar Split. Newcomer Goran Grgurevic and young player of the Croatian national team Marko Zuvela were the best scorers with three goals each.
Jadran Split demolished KPK Korcula with four goals from Zvonimir Butic and Marin Tomasovic.

Just a few days after a successful start in the Champions League Qualifications, Mladost Zagreb played against its city rival Medvescak. Mladost took a flying start (9:2 in the first quarter) and cruised to an 18:7 victory. Sandro Adeishvili and David Mijic contributed to the victory with four goals each.

2022/23 Serbian League, Round 1

Crvena Zvezda – Sabac 11:5 (1:2, 1:1, 6:1, 3:1)

Crvena Zvezda: Tankosic 3, Vasic 3, Subotic 2, Markovic 1, Banicevic 1, Radovic 1.
Sabac: Stojanovic 3, Repanovic 1, Shakhuidinov 1.

The Serbian championship will begin next week, but an encounter between Crvena Zvezda and Sabac was played earlier, because both clubs will compete in European cups next week. Crvena Zvezda beat Sabac easier than expected. Sabac led 3:2 at halftime. But, Crvena Zvezda produced a big comeback during the third period and entered the fourth quarter with a 8:4 lead. By the end, it stretched the margin to six (11:5)
