Big wins for favorites in Spanish League

The second half of the first part of the Spanish League has started with the 6th round.

There were no surprises, favorites recorded big wins.

2020/21 Spanish League, Day 6

Group A

Mediterrani – Real Canoe 16:7 (3:2, 4:1, 4:1, 5:3)

Mediterrani: Gorria 4, Galeev 3, Minguell 2, Corres 2, G. Garcia 2, A. Garcia 2, Edwards 1.
Real Canoe: Lorrio 2, Alcon 2,De Grado 1, V. Fernandez 1, Acosta 1.

Sant Feliu– Terrassa 5:24 (1:6, 0:4, 0:8, 4:6)

Barcelona – Catalunya postponed

Mediterrani and Real Canoe shared the points in the match of the first round, played in Madrid in October (9:9). The encounter between these two teams in Barcelona turned into a one-sided contest shortly after the first whistle. Mediterrani had a 7:3 advantage at halftime. The hosts added two goals after the middle break for 9:3 and never looked back.

Terrassa taught a water polo lesson to Sant Feliu and maintained a perfect record – five wins in as many games.

Barceloneta – Sant Andreu postponed.

The Spanish Super Cup winner Sabadell traveled to the Canary Islands to face Tenerife. The visitors opened the match with a 9:0 lead. Tenerife its first two goals scored in the last 16 seconds of the second quarter for 2:9. After a balanced third quarter, Sabadell dominated in the fourth and increased the margin of their win to 13 – 20:7.

Navarra kept up with Mataro for almost three quarters, but the favorite knocked down the visitors in the fourth quarter.

The group-leader Barceloneta will play its match of the 6th round after the first tournament of the Champions League.

Next round in January

The Spanish Championship will be continued in January. Meanwhile, a few postponed matches will be played.

After the first phase, the top three teams from each group will continue the battle for the title in Group C, while teams ranked 4th, 5th, and 6th will play in group D.

In stage 2, the teams that met previously do not play each other. The results of their encounters from the first will be carried to the second stage. Each team will play against three teams from the other group of the first stage by a round-robin system (6 rounds). The top four clubs will advance to the playoffs.
