After more than ten years in the Hungarian League, Serbian goalkeeper Branislav Mitrovic leaves Hungary.
Mitrovic, who was one of Vasas’ key players in winning the LEN Euro Cup, confirmed Total Waterpolo he would continue his career in France and join Tourcoing Lille.
Branislav Mitrovic played for Vojvodina and Partizan. In 2010, he moved to Ferencvaros. After one season at „Fradi“, Mitrovic wore the red cap of Debrecen, Eger, OSC Budapest, and Vasas in the last two seasons.
He is considered one of the best goalkeepers of today. Mitrovic was voted the best goalkeeper in the world in the voting for the 2021 Total Player Award. Representing Serbia, he has won 16 medals with the senior national team, including two Olympic titles (2016 and 2021), world gold, four gold medals at the European Championships, six titles in the World League, etc…
Tourcoing has high ambitions. Last summer, the club reshaped its team and brought several reinforcements. The French targeted a spot in the Champions League, but they didn’t qualify for the Preliminary Stage and afterward reached the quarterfinals of the LEN Euro Cup.
Tourcoing finished 3rd in the French League and will play in the Champions League qualifications.
