There was no stake in the last round of the regular season in the Spanish League. Before the 22nd matchday, it had been known that the pairs of the semifinals would be Sabadell – Terrassa and Barceloneta – Barcelona, while Caballa would be relegated.
But, even though there were no crucial games, there were a few very exciting encounters. The highlight of the week was the clash between Catalunya and Sant Andreu. The score in the regular time was 13:13, and the winner was decided in a marathon penalty shootout. Catalunya emerged as a winner – 28:27 (15:14 PSO)

Sabadell finished the season with a perfect record. In the last round, it beat Tenerife in the Canary Islands. The hosts kept up with the favorite in the first half. Deep into the second period, Tnerife trailed 4:5. Then, the visitors made a 9:1 series for a comfortable 14:5 lead and secured the victory.
Barceloneta showed no mercy to Real Canoe, scoring 23 and conceding six goals. Barcelona, led by Marc Valls and Luca Cupido, beat Rubi 14:6.
Catalunya and Sant Andreu fought like the points in this match were very valuable, even though Catalunya was locked for 9th place and Sant Andreu couldn’t move from 7th place. They produced a very thrilling game, and fans enjoyed it. Catalunya led throughout the match. Sant Andreu leveled twice in the early stage of the game (1:1 and 2:2). After that, Catalunya was in front. The hosts built a 7:4 lead in the 19th minute. However, Sant Andreu chased them persistently. A minute before the end, Catalunya was two steps ahead (13:11). However, the visitors netted two goals in the last 54 seconds. Bargallo scored an equalizer seven seconds before the buzzer and the winner was decided in a penalty shootout. The match ended after the 17th round of shots! Catalunya earned the points with a 28:27 win.
Mediterrani narrowly beat Mataro 9:8. Mediterrani went to 7:3 midway through the third quarter. Mataro cut the deficit to one goal 30 seconds before the end(7:8). But, Mediterrani’s Hernandez responded in its last possession (9:7). Mataro scored a consolation goal in the very last second.
