A serious misstep by the Posillipo’s management, places the team’s upcoming season (and ambitions) in jeopardy.
CN Posillipo is unable to utilize three of its top summer signings—Montenegrin Darko Brguljan, and Serbians Marko Radulovic and Milos Milicic—due to a major administrative oversight. The club missed the September 30 deadline to file for the necessary international transfer certificates (ITC), as required by European Aquatics regulations. Without these crucial documents, Posillipo is unable to register the players for the upcoming season, leaving their participation in doubt.
According to both Italian and European regulations, without the proper registration, Posillipo will not be able to field these players, not just at the start of the season, but for the entire campaign. European Aquatics provides a secondary window for transfer requests in January, but the FIN regulations prevent new registrations during the season. The only option within the championship would be to replace an already-registered foreign player.
Posillipo’s only hope now lies in the possibility that European Aquatics might grant a special waiver, allowing the club to submit the transfer requests next week and complete the registrations in time for the start of the A1 season. However, given the strict stance of European Aquatics, this seems like a remote possibility. Without these three international players, Posillipo’s season goals will likely need to be drastically adjusted.
