One of the greatest water polo players of all time, Andrija Prlainovic, is set to become a KVK Radnicki player starting from the 2025/26 season. The Serbian legend’s move to Kragujevac marks another milestone in an already illustrious career.
Prlainovic’s resume speaks volumes about his status as a water polo icon. A five-time European champion with 4 different clubs, proofs that he has been the heart and soul of every team he has played for.
Andrija Prlainović is one of the greatest water polo players of all time, with a career full of unmatched achievements. He’s a four-time Olympic medalist—two golds and two bronzes—and has been a national champion in every country he’s played. He’s won five Champions League titles with four different teams (Partizan, Crvena Zvezda, Pro Recco, Szolnok) and claimed two World Championships and five European Championships. On top of that, he has 11 World League titles to his name. Few players in history can match his legacy of success and dominance in the sport.
"I'm happy to be playing for a Serbian team again. I've grown a bit tired of life abroad. Everything has its time. I spent the most time in Marseille since leaving Serbia—a full five seasons—and the moment for my return had to come. I'm in the later stages of my playing career, but I believe I can still give a lot," said Prlainovic.
"I've been following Radnicki ever since director Jugoslav Vasovic arrived, and I'm quite familiar with the club's situation, so it wasn't hard for me to decide to come to Kragujevac. This is the most consistent club in Serbia over the past decade. It has maintained a long-standing presence in Europe and the Adriatic League, has won domestic trophies, and even the Regional League. Now, the ambitions are even higher. This season, they've brought in some of our best players, and next season, there will be even more, which clearly reflects the club's high goals. We'll do our best to go after every trophy," concluded Prlainovic.
With his unparalleled experience, proven track record, and unrelenting drive for success, Andrija Prlainovic is set to bring a new level of excellence to Radnicki. Fans in Kragujevac and across the water polo world will be eagerly anticipating his debut for team from Kragujevac.
