Vouliagmeni was a surprise team in the just finished season of the Champions League.
Â
The club finished 4th, at the F8 and achieved its best-ever result in the Champions League. Vouliagmeni wants to continue the way it started and to play an important role in Europe.
Â
There will be several changes on the roster. The team will be rejuvenated, but there will be reinforcements, tooÂ
Â
As Total Waterpolo reported, the first reinforcement is Serbia’s center-forward Nemanja Ubovic, who left Ferencvaros after two years at the Budapest-based club.
Â
Ubovic will be welcomed by his fellow countryman Vladimir Vujasinovic, who became Vouliagmeni’s head coach last summer and renewed the contract for the following season.
Â
"I am looking forward to working with Vladimir Vujasinovic, who has never coached me. I believe playing in Greece will be a great experience", Ubovic, who played for Beograd, Vojvodina, Barceloneta, Brescia, OSC and Ferencvaros, said.
Â
One foreigner, American Matt Farmer, left the club. He retired to become a coach at Stanford University.
Â
Greek center-forward Dimitrios Nikolaidis will leave Vouliagmeni to join Olympiacos. Only an official confirmation is missing.
