Yesterday, we published news about a possible Konstantin Kharkov's return to Jadran Split, even though Brescia announced that it had renewed the contract with the Russian with Croatian citizenship three months ago.
Today, the transfer has been confirmed.
The first official information came from Brescia.
Brescia announced that Kharkov would no longer play for the second-best Italian club
"AN Brescia communicates that it has agreed with Konstantin Kharkov for the consensual termination of the contract at the player's request.
We thank Konstantin for the past season and wish him all the luck for the future", the club said in its announcement.
In the afternoon, we got confirmation from Split that Kharkov would join Jadran and help the team achieve goals in all competitions in the next season. Jadran Split, the Croatian champion, is directly qualified for the Champions League.
Kharkov started his career in Strum Ruza. In 2018, he arrived in Croatia and played for Mladost Zagreb until 2021, when he moved to Jadran. Last year he signed for Brescia Now, he returns to the Split-based club.
Since last year, he has played for Croatia and won the gold medal at the Europeans in Split. Representing Russia, Kharkov was the best scorer at the 2020 European Championships in Budapest.
Kharkov is the second left-handed player who left Brescia this summer. Boris Vapenski returned to Dinamo Tbilisi after two seasons spent in Brescia.
