Last week, Posillipo announced the signing of Montenegrin veteran Darko Brguljan from Primorje.
The 33-year-old returns to Naples, where he played for three seasons with Canottieri Napoli, having previously donned the colors of Primorac, Budva, and Waspo Hannover.
However, there are now reports that another high-quality player will join Posillipo, the 11-time champions of Italy and three-time champions of Europe—Brescia's Vincenzo Renzuto.
Renzuto, 31, is a graduate of Posillipo's academy and a World Champion from Gwangju in 2019. His career has led him from Naples, where he played in the Posillipo side that won the LEN Trophy in 2015, to Jug in Dubrovnik, then on to Recco and Brescia, winning two Italian League and Cup titles, as well as the same honor in Croatia with Jug.
With Brguljan confirmed and Renzuto likely to return to his childhood club, Posillipo—who finished 10th out of 14 teams this season—can once again hope to be a competitive force in the top half of the Italian league.
